The Lean dining table is made from solid Ash. Inspired by the traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance within a Shinto shrine. The table’s construction is clearly visible, the half lap joints reflects that of the Torii gate, leaving an honest expressive form. The table top grain direction has been staggered to create a natural flowing sequence. Each leg is jointed to the underneath frame, which has been designed to elevate the table top to give the impression of grace and airiness.
